Firefighter Challenge

Wight Extreme Hike, Firefighter Challenge 2006

A team of Firefighters will be walking around the coastline of the Isle of Wight in aid of the Isle of Wight Chemotherapy Unit, Wessex Wight Appeal from the Wessex Cancer Trust .

The challenge will take place from 6th to 8th July 2006.

Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2005

In May 2005, seven Firefighters completed a 1,014 mile trip from St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight to the Old Town Square, Prague, Czech Republic, in 14 days.

The challenge raised £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief for the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Wight Kidney Patients Association and the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.

There are rumours of another Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge in 2008.
