Mega Garage Sale - 11am on Saturday 22 April 2006
Fire Station, South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight

The Wight Extreme Hike Mega Garage Sale is taking place from 11am on Saturday 22nd April 2006 at the Fire Station, Newport, Isle of Wight.

All the proceeds will be going to the Isle of Wight Chemotherapy Unit, Wessex Wight
Appeal from the Wessex Cancer Trust.

Donations of quality items for inclusion for the sale are welcome, either by bringing the item/s to the station prior to the Mega Garage Sale or on the day. Alternatively telephone 01983 525 121 (Isle of Wight Fire Control) to arrange to speak with someone from the Wight Extreme Hike Team about your donation.

Wight Extreme Hike Prize Draw 2006

Tickets for the Wight Extreme Hike Prize Draw 2006 will be available for sale from
Saturday 22nd April 2006.

Several local businesses have already been generous with donation of prizes, which include a mountain bike, digital camera, Island pleasure flight and a table for four at the Farringford Hotel, Freshwater.

A list of prizes is being updated on the challenge website at www.firefighterchallenge.co.uk. Those donating prizes will be given publicity, unless otherwise requested.

Tickets are £1 each, with all the proceeds going to the Isle of Wight Chemotherapy Unit, Wessex Wight Appeal from the Wessex Cancer Trust.

Tickets will be initially be available from the The Wessex Cancer Trust shop, Freshwater: Manager- Sandra Whitewood/Deputy Manager-Annie Barry, Wessex Cancer Trust Shop, 4 Moa Place, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, PO40 9DS. Telephone: 01983 756482. Opening times: 9:00-4:00 Monday-Friday and 9:00-1:00 on a Saturday.

Tickets will also be available at the Wight Extreme Hike Mega Garage Sale on Saturday 22nd April 2006. Anyone interested in helping to sell tickets should contact the Wight Extreme Hike team via e-mail or contact June Ring, Wessex Wight Appeal, Wessex Cancer Trust, on 01983 755 652.


Prizes sought for Wight Extreme Hike Prize Draw - individuals and local or national businesses.

The Wight Extreme Hike team together with local volunteers of the Wessex Cancer Trust are seeking donations of prizes for a prize draw.

The Wight Extreme Hike is being undertaken to raise money for the Wessex Wight Appeal from the Wessex Cancer Trust, which is raising funds for the Isle of Wight Chemotherapy Unit. The challenge is for a team of Firefighters from Green Watch, Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service, Newport Fire Station, Isle of Wight, to walk around the shoreline (a distance of approximately 72 miles) of the Isle of Wight over three days.
