Firefighter Challenge 2008: Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008
The rumours of another Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge are confirmed.
In September 2008, a team of Firefighters will be cycling from St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight, UK to the Vatican Square, Italy, in approximately 14 days.
This follows the previous Square to Square Charity Cycle 2005, where a team of firefighters cycled from Newport, Isle of Wight to the Old Town Square, Prague, Czech Republic. The challenge raised £10,000 and was divided between Macmillan Cancer Relief for the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Wight Kidney Patients Association and the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.
The aim of the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 is to raise £25,000 for the Wessex Cancer Trust for care and support of Isle of Wight Cancer patients and their families.
